HIGH ALUMINA CEMENT

ROMCEM are a range of hydraulically setting refractory binders (High Alumina Cement)  manufactured under strict quality assurance system. The rheological properties of ROMCEM are well adapted for casting & gunning. Supplied in 50 kg HDPE bags packed with an extra moisture resistant barrier inside. Like all other hydraulic binders these products must be stored in a dry condition. They have a shelf-life 6 months. However in many instances properties are retained for over a year also.

ROMCEM-50

ROMCEM-50 containing 50 per cent Alumina is ideally suitable for making conventional and insulating castables. The principle components are Calcium Aluminates with low iron content because of which it has a high refractoriness. Its high Monocalcium Aluminate phase provide refractory castables made with ROMCEM-50 rapid hardening properties with excellent mechanical strength.

The properties indicated in the table are determined as per the Indian Standard methods.

ROMCEM-65

ROMCEM-65 is a high purity hydraulic refractory binder containing about 65 per cent Alumina, which is designed to be used at temperature around 1600OC. If used with selected refractory aggregates, even higher refractoriness can be achieved.

The high Alumina with relatively low iron content impart superb corrosion, abrasion resistances and excellent thermo-mechanical properties. With an incorporated balance between CA & CA2  phases in the product, extreme fineness of around 4000 (cm2/g) along with other properties, ROMCEM-65 is recommended for use in all high refractory technology castables where applications like -  rapid hardening combined with exceptional mechanical performance at high temperatures are required.
